5 Reasons Why You Should Volunteer at the INDE PEN DENCE Color Run
22/12/2023We Are Joining The Fight To Help improve the quality of life for patients and families living with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD).
JINJA, 25th June 2024/Independence Weekly — Color King and the associated partners are proud to present the 4th annual INDE PEN DENCE Color Run which is to happen on 9th October at Naranbhai field in Jinja.
The INDE PEN DENCE Color Run brings together people of various ages, backgrounds, and ethnicities to celebrate Uganda’s independence, this year, we are celebrating Uganda@62. Cultural exchanges happen through food & drinks, African games, sports & recreation, arts, competitions, live performances, and massive color throws. The flagship activity is the untimed 5km “fun run” where participants get blasted with color powder every 1 km as they walk, jog, dance, or ride to the finish line where the winning trophy will go to the last place winner. There will also be an afterglow party to wrap up the massive celebration with top DJs, glow stick outfitting, fluorescent painting, fireworks, and more.
INDE PEN DENCE Color Run draws inspiration from the Hindu festival Holi, which marks the coming of spring. On this day, people throw powdered paint, known as gulal at each other. For one day the distinctions between castes, religions, and gender are set aside and everyone is equal.
Our Impact Areas
We are committed to 5 things, these form the pillars that guide the work and focus of the brand
Patriotism Among All | Community & Charity | Health & Wellness | High Traffic Marketplace | Inter-Regional Tourism |
Community & Charity
Through our “Do Gooder” campaign, each year, we partner with a note-worthy charity to help promote their work and raise funds, in this way, we amplify their impact. Earlier this year, we opened up online submissions in which the public could nominate their favorite charity to become this year’s charity beneficiary. Choosing a charity is a combination of public submissions and an internal nomination team that shortlists the submissions after which the final selection is made. After various submissions, we are happy to announce our 2024 charity beneficiary.
Congratulations to Raising Hope International Friends; a non-governmental organization (NGO) committed to improving the social health and quality of life for patients and families living with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD).
“This year, we had over 45 submissions and each of them is making our communities a better place through their extraordinary work and focus. Raising Hope stood out to us in many ways and we can’t be happier than to be serving with them”
says INDE PEN DENCE Color Run lead Anthony Jermaine
“The work they are doing is extraordinary, many lives are being transformed and even saved through their work.“
